Too late to bug out: successful predation by Hydrocyrius (Belostomatidae) on the Afrotropical aquatic snake Grayia smithii (Colubridae)

We report a case of predation by an Afrotropical aquatic belostomatid bug of the genus Hydrocyrius on a Smith's water snake Grayia smithii (Squamata Colubridae) in Mba River in the Okapi Wildlife Reserve, Ituri Province, northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
