Miscellanea Herpetologica Gabonica XX

We present new Gabonese locality records for Mecistops leptorhynchus, Osteolaemus tetraspis (Crocodylidae), Ichnotropis bivittata (Lacertidae), Lacertaspis reichenowii (Scincidae), Varanus ornatus (Varanidae), Dipsadoboa weileri, Grayia ornata (first record from Gabon of the striped form), Philothamnus hughesi, Thelotornis kirtlandii, Toxicodryas blandingii (Colubridae), Dendroaspis jamesoni jamesoni, Naja annulata (Elapidae), Bothrolycus ater, Hormonotus modestus, Mehelya poensis (Lamprophiidae), Prosymna ambigua (first documented record for Gabon) (Prosymnidae), Python sebae (Pythonidae), Bitis arietans and B. nasicornis (tenth reptile species recorded from a cave in Gabon) (Viperidae). One species is newly recorded from Loango National Park, three from Haut-Ogooué Province, and one from Nyanga Province. We report a fatal envenomation presumably due to Dendroaspis jamesoni jamesoni in Ogooué-Ivindo Province. We reject a record of Grayia ornata from Mount Kupe, Cameroon.
