Aquatic oligochaetes of Lake Virelles: four new species for the Belgian fauna.

Nais christinae, Nais simplex, Vejdovskyefla intermedia and Ilyodrilus templetoni, four species of freshwater oligochaetes, are recorded for the first time from Belgium. The genera Vejdovskyella and Ilyodrilus are also new for the Belgian fauna. Identification criteria based on external characters are proposed as well as ways to avoid possible confusion with closely related species. Some notes on the ecology of these four species are given.
