Humivorous nasute termites (Isoptera: Nasutitermitinae) from the Panama Canal area.

The taxonomic status of five species of humivorous nasutes from the Panama Canal area is examined. The following species are recognized : Subulitermes zeteki (Snyder, 1924), Subulitermes denisae, new species, Atlantilermes kirbyi (Snyder, 1926), Ereymatermes panamensis, new species, and Coatitermes clevelandi (Snyder, 1926). Their descriptions are herein given or complemented with emphasis on worker anatomy, diagnostic characters are provided and generic assignments are discussed.
