A new species of Tephritis Latreille (Diptera : Tephritidae) from Turkey

Tephritis erdemilii n. sp., from Isparta province, Turkey, associated with Cirsium vulgare is described and illustrated. The new species is similar in wing pattern to T. cometa israelis Freidberg, and T acanthiophilopsis Hering, differing in the details of wing pattern and the conspicuously longer aculeus.
